The letter M
is the thirteenth letter in the modern Latin English alphabet. M hails from the
Phoenician "Mem", and from the Greek alphabets "Mu". The
Phoenician Mem in turn is derived from a Egyptian hieroglyph that symbolized
water.
The letter M only really has one look. The capital M has pointed
joins at the top but the lower case M has curves instead. When used in sign
language, it is denoted by three fingers on the palm, which creates the look of
the letter M.
Many words will use double Ms in words, but this can be difficult to
do in a game of scrabble. Instead, you need to look for the more simple words
available.
